Hello!
My name is LaSandra and I reluctantly started this blog in 2008.
Why was I reluctant, you ask? Well, in 2008, I was only about 4 years into marriage and was a young mom of 2 toddlers. I was still new to the whole "Stay at Home Mom" thing and was spending most days feeling alone and like I was crazy in over my head.
Fortunately, this was at a time when mom blogs were springing up all over the web! I quickly became enamored with these blogs and wanted to create my own. Nevertheless, I knew that unlike many of the moms whose blogs I was reading, I wasn't an "expert" at marriage, or mothering, or homemaking. In fact, I was a novice. I was using the blogosphere as a sort of classroom - to learn, to connect, to be inspired.
Eventually, I took the plunge and wrote my first post. I figured that although I wouldn't be able to offer much expert advice, I could still use my blog as a way to share, process and capture my journey as a woman, wife and mother. Let me tell you, I am so glad I did! Not only have I had fun connecting with so many other moms and friends, blogging has been a great way to document so much of my family's life, during a time when things were moving fast. Many of these years now feel like I blur. I smile, and laugh and shake my head as I read old posts, grateful that I captured these precious moments.
On this blog, you will find everything from random ideas and experiences to the birth stories of my children. When I was getting real creative (and I little desperate), I wrote notes to my postpartum self and pregnant self. You will find that I have celebrated my hubby here over the years (he deserves it) and laughed out loud at my kids on many occasions.
In addition to my husband and my children, I also love Jesus, music, coffee, holidays, and Target. Consequently, you will find much here on these topics. I like to have a good laugh and to be a source of encouragement whenever I can. Hopefully, you will find a story that causes you to chuckle or that inspires you to keep pressing forward.
You'll see that in the past few years, my blogging has taken a back seat to - well, life. Nevertheless, I see the value in continuing even if its just here and there. Thank you to all of you that have read, commented, and shared in my journey along the way!
Thank you, LaSandra. I was on the road to "blogsville" and was stopped by the "what am I an expert at" sign. I made an attempt last year to get going because writing is a gift and it is sooo therapeutic.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading this, I have a fresh motivation to get back on that road.
God Bless,
Muriel
