Tales From The Tub

Our girls bathe together (we save time and water that way). I usually throw some toys in for them to play with while I use that time to get things done around our home.

Normally, I just work and check in on them periodically. However, today I found myself having to make a mad dash back into the bathroom after overhearing this conversation...

Noelle: "Come here Bella."

Bella: (splashes over)

Noelle: "Lift your hands."

Bella: "Okay."

Noelle: "Now I'm going to baptize you, okay?"

I could just see the headlines: "Religious fanatic mother allows daughter to drown younger sister in the name of Jesus!"

  1. That is so funny! My sister and I used to play church with our barbies. We would play my mom's sermon tapes and make them come to Christ at the end. We would also make them catch the spirit and start shouting. Love the children and their imitation of things holy.

  2. Oh my word, our kids must be reading each others' minds. On our walk we walked past a ditch with a few puddles and Ella said she'll get in and be baptised.Your kids are cute!

  4. LOL! WOW! Well, Noelle had the right idea! Reminds me of when I was little. I used to put on my mom's dress clothes and heels and line my teddy bears up on my bed, go behind my dresser and preach (with the shouting and all) after playing a Fred Hammond cassette for praise and worship. My mom said she would just sit and watch, lol. PRAISE GOD for CHILDREN!!!

  5. That's funny!

Bath time in my house is usually an assembly line. I don't think they've ever practiced baptism. LOL

  6. Shut up! That is too funny! You and Kenneth are definitely raising them up in the way that they should go. Yay for a sanctified household! I love it!

  7. I am so excited to find out who you are !! Are you really from Chicago? And you Baptize in Jesus name at your church? If you do that, then you must be Oneness! Lots of things you post , are important issues to me too. Also, the reason I found your site was, because I was looking to find Br Teklemariam's adress. He was in your church in 08?? I am SOO jealous! I want to see him again. My husband and I heard him 5 or 6 years ago, and he surely had THINGS to say about American Christians!! PLEASE write me at sumalennox@aol.com

  8. I remember when my brother was little and he used to preach to our puppies so that they would get saved.
My brother and I would also go to McDonald's and preach to the other little kids, which often included teaching them Christmas songs! Ahh.. what great times!
