A New Season

"For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland." (Is. 43:19 NLT)

Have I ever told you how much I love this verse?

This is a verse God has used to speak to me a few times when he was about to change something in my life that I had been struggling with for a long time. This verse excites me! This verse means; a new season, change, and deliverance!

I could use a new season in my life, right about now. So, I am praying for it and expecting it.
One area that I would like to have a "new season" in is the area of organization.

I have been working on different ideas for our daily routine and have been sticking to a fairly effective morning routine for a while.

Here it is:

Morning Routine

Quiet Time (Mom-Read Bible and Pray) (Kids-Look at a book on their bed)

Brush Teeth/Floss- All

Wash Faces- All

Make Beds- All

Change Diapers- Mom

Bedroom Pick-up (Put away clothes, shoes, items, etc)- All

Wipe down bathroom sink, mirror, toilet- Mom

After the morning routine is over, we all go downstairs and I begin to cook breakfast while the children are playing. The rest of my day happens in a way that is not quite so organized. Thus, I am working towards a more concrete afternoon, evening, and bedtime routine!

What about you? What does your daily routine look like?

  3. Oh, my...this made me giggle. I just cannot even imagine having my day so organized! You're doing great!! I don't think it would work for me...I get into a strict routine and I start to feel suffocated. However, we do have a loose routine in our house. Kids get up, sometimes before Daddy gets up, they get sent back to their room if it's before eight. Around eight thirty on most days, we get up and come out to the living room. The kids play while I get their breakfast ready. They eat breakfast (steel cut oats and smoothies pretty much every day so that is one area of strict routine that works for us) and as often as I can, I read my Bible while I eat my breakfast with them. After breakfast they play and I usually clean up, read or take a shower. Around ten they are allowed to watch a movie, snack at eleven and Daddy home at noon for lunch, they have lunch at one thirty and sometimes naps at two (the youngest two on most days). After naps, they play or watch a movie before Daddy gets home around five. Of course, that's all only if it's an average day without any appointments or spontaneous playtimes with the cousins. :)
