Awesome Post On Modern Motherhood!
Mrs. Parunak has written a great post called Why Modern Motherhood Is So Much Harder Than It Ought To Be: Part I. If you're a new Stay at Home Mom and/or could just use some more encouragement in regards to all this mommy/homemaker business, you're not alone! Oh my word, I'm literally crying after reading that post.Thankfully my husband is like hers, but it's so sad.It's so true.Everytime I find a mother who says she's battling depression I feel 'glad' because then I know I'm not alone.Thank you for this link.It's precious.It's wonderful-IT'S TRUE!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the post. It was refreshing to see an analysis of why it's hard to be a modern mother that didn't place blame primarily on feminism. It's clear that our society has moved away from being family oriented, but with what feels like a gap in wisdom/practice/knowledge of what it takes for our generation, I wonder how we re-instill valuing the family, homemaking, and raising families in communities on a large scale if we who will one day (God-willing) be the elders ourselves don't know. I guess part two is about what can be done and I look forward to that.
